Solar Flare to be the modern day Carrington Event? (Videos and Pictures)

Double whammy, the earth this weekend is going to be smacked by a very large coupling of solar flares and CME’s (Coronal Mass Ejections). These pair of flares are going to be so large that according to Space Weather, there are going to be auroras in Florida. Usually auroras, if there is a big enough flare, don’t even go past Michigan. Florida, is going to see them; that says a lot. Here is their description of the flares: “STORM WARNING: A pair of CMEs is heading for Earth. The two solar storm clouds were launched on Sept. 9th and 10th by strong explosions in the magnetic canopy of sunspot AR2158. NOAA forecasters estimate a nearly 80% chance of polar geomagnetic storms on Sept. 12th when the first of the two CMEs arrives. Auroras are in the offing, possibly visible at mid-latitudes before the weekend.. Aurora alerts:

EARTH-DIRECTED X-FLARE AND CME: Sunspot AR2158 erupted on Sept. 10th at 17:46 UT, producing an X1.6-class solar flare. A flash of ultraviolet radiation from the explosion ionized the upper layers of Earth’s atmosphere, disturbing HF radio communications for more than an hour. More importantly, the explosion hurled a CME directly toward Earth.”

As you can see, the middle is actually just below Florida, where the Auroras could potentially come down to. This will be an interesting event, and arriving in just a matter of hours gives us all very little time to prepare, in case there are ramifications. The other warnings are for possible power grid interruptions. This has been spoken of for how long? If a big enough blast from the sun hits the US just right, it will send us into the dark ages. This has potential, and scientists are warning about it. So, be on alert and aware if your power does go off.

As the flare left the sun, there where almost immediate interruptions and blackouts with HF radio frequencies. Make sure you have a listen for yourself!

After you hear it, here is what happened as it was erupting: ” “RADIO-LOUD EXPLOSION: The X-flare of Sept 10th caused a radio blackout on Earth. Ironically, it also caused a blast of radio noise. Radio astronomers and hams in the Americas and across the Pacific Ocean heard static roaring from the loudspeakers of their shortwave receivers. “It was absolutely howling,” reports Thomas Ashcraft, who sends this 3-minute recording from his amateur radio observatory in rural New Mexico. (What you just listened to). “This is what I heard at the onset of the flare,” he explains. “By the time the flare peaked, it became almost too intense for my ears.”.

Now it is also important to note that there are two flares incoming, one is an M class and the latest one is an X class. These flares according to AP could: “WASHINGTON (AP) – An extreme solar flare is blasting its way to Earth and could mess up some power grids, satellites and radio transmissions, scientists say. It’s been several years since Earth has had a solar storm of this size coming from sunspots smack in the middle of the sun, said Tom Berger, director of the Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colorado. Solar storms happen often, especially during peaks in the solar cycle, and don’t directly harm people. But what makes this one more worrisome is its location on the sun along with its strength, he said.” Now what is interesting is back on August 1^st, 2014 there was a warning posted about a solar storm: “Scientist warns of inevitable solar super-storm propelled towards Earth“. The question is are they connected? Only time tells, but if it is not this flare that takes down the grid. It will be one in the near future, all of these flares and CME’s weaken our infrastructure, and our atmosphere becomes compressed.
