Bangladesh has been hit by major blackouts after a power line connecting the country to India’s electricity grid failed, reports say.
The blackout began at about noon local time and affected all parts of the country linked to the national grid.
Within a few hours some power plants began operating again but they have since failed. It is not clear when supply might resume.
Bangladesh began importing electricity from India in October last year.
Officials said engineers were working to restore supply. They had hoped to fix the problem by Saturday evening.
The exact cause remains unknown, but the head of the national grid in Bangladesh, Chowdhury Alamgir Hossain, told the Dhaka Tribune newspaper that the power cut began after a technical glitch at a substation distributing power from India.

Looks like there has been another filament eruption
which happened around 4:00 PM EST (2nd one today!)
Will post video and more info as I can find it!
We’ve had a 6.0 pt. on Easter Island and
also a 7.0 pt. near Fiji–definitely related!
Solar filament has destabilized and exploded off the
side of the sun this A.M. with others in the process
of going off, as well!
“Suspicious Observer” does a super job of explaining
this on-going event today–including a planetary
alignment of 4 planets (which historically has
caused “solar-disturbances” and weather/earthquake
up-tick “Watch.)

This is an “odd” reporting for Ben Davidson because he explains that this eruption is “On-Going” and will
have an update later tonight when the NASA info comes
in. (He doesn’t do that very often…so S.O. must
think this must be pretty serious!) So…Heads-up
for strange electronic interference, severe weather
and quakes (apparently, includes sink holes now!)
